Websites for builders

Website design for builders

Homeowners spend weeks researching a builder before they ever pick up the phone. They look at your work, they read your reviews, and they judge you on your website inside about eight seconds. If it looks dated, or worse, if you don't have one, most of them quietly move on to the next name on the list.

2ndfix builds proper websites for builders across the UK. Extensions, loft conversions, refurbishments, new builds, whatever you're known for, we make it the star of the site. Real photos of your work, real reviews from real customers, click-to-call buttons that work on the phone in your customer's hand, and enquiry forms that actually reach you.

It's the same site the design-led builders and premium contractors already use. Now it's within reach for every builder who wants to look the part without hiring a marketing agency.

What builders actually need from a website

A gallery that sells the job

High-quality photos of your finished work, grouped by project. Before-and-afters that show the transformation. Homeowners buy the outcome, show them what they'll get.

Trust signals that reassure

Real Google and Trustpilot reviews, insurance details, trade body memberships (FMB, TrustMark, CHAS), and a proper About page. All the things a nervous homeowner needs to see before parting with £50,000.

Enquiries that reach you fast

Click-to-call, WhatsApp buttons and short enquiry forms, designed to work on a phone at the kitchen table, not a desktop in an office you'll never see.

Found on Google

UK-wide SEO setup: proper page structure, meta tags, schema markup, image compression, and a fast site that Google likes. So people searching for a builder in your area actually find you.

Content that keeps working

Blog posts and project write-ups turn one job into three enquiries. We help you get the words down without you spending your evening writing them.

Professional email

hello@yourbusiness.co.uk beats yourcompany@gmail.com every time. Especially when you're quoting a £120,000 extension.

Project galleries that actually convert

The single biggest thing that wins a builder work is showing what you've done. Most builder websites either bury their photos three clicks deep or dump them into a slow, badly organised gallery. We do it properly.

  • One page per project, kitchen extension in Hove, loft conversion in Worthing, full refurb in Brighton, each with its own gallery, story and a note on what the customer wanted.
  • Before-and-after sliders that work smoothly on phones, the format homeowners already understand from Instagram.
  • Automatic image compression, so a folder of 40 photos doesn't turn your site into a slideshow of loading spinners.
  • Simple upload, you send us the photos from your phone, we get them onto the site properly.
  • Optional case studies with the customer's own words. Nothing sells a builder like a happy homeowner explaining what they got and why they'd recommend you.

AI that answers enquiries while you're on the tools

Most jobs go to whoever replies first, and most builders can't stop pouring a slab to answer a phone. An AI enquiry handler on your site can take the initial questions, capture the details, and either book a site visit straight into your diary or send you a clean summary to follow up in the evening.

  • Answers common questions 24/7: rough budget ranges, typical timelines, areas you cover.
  • Filters tyre-kickers from serious enquiries before they land in your inbox.
  • Books site visits into your calendar so you don't play phone tag for a week.
  • Passes tricky or high-value enquiries straight to you with a clean summary.
  • Trained on your business, your prices, your process, your patch, not generic waffle.
  • Works from your site, WhatsApp, or both, whatever your customers actually use.

Video sells a builder better than any paragraph

Short walkthrough videos of finished projects do more work than any About page. A one-minute tour of a completed extension, with you talking through what you did, tells a homeowner everything they need to know: the quality of the finish, that you're the kind of person they want in their house for six months, and that you've done this before.

  • We help you shoot simple phone footage on-site, no film crew, no fuss.
  • We edit the clips into short, punchy videos for your site and social.
  • One project can produce a hero video, three short reels, and a set of stills.
  • Video makes your Google Business Profile stand out, most builders still have zero videos on theirs.
  • Homeowners share videos far more than they share text. Free word-of-mouth marketing.

Common questions

How long does it take to build a builder's website?

Around two to three weeks from the day you send us your photos and a bit of information about the business. We do the heavy lifting, you just approve the drafts along the way.

What if I don't have professional photos of my work?

Most builders don't. Phone photos are fine as long as they're in focus and taken in decent light. We'll tell you which projects are worth reshooting on a sunny afternoon, and we'll edit and crop everything for you.

Do you work with builders across the whole UK?

Yes. We're based in the UK and work with builders from Cornwall to Cumbria. Everything is done remotely, a couple of video calls, a Dropbox link for photos, and we're off.

Will my site show up on Google?

That's the point. Every site we build ships with proper SEO, page structure, meta tags, schema markup for LocalBusiness, image alt text, and a fast, mobile-first build. You'll want a bit of patience and some ongoing content, but the foundation is solid from day one.

What if I already have a website but it's not working?

That's most builders. We do a free health check on your current site, tell you honestly what's letting you down, and rebuild it properly if it's worth it. You keep your domain and your existing enquiries never miss a beat during the switch.
